A Retreat for the Woman You Are Becoming

A Soul Alignment Studios Signature Retreat

February 19–21, 2027 The Historic Sea Captains House | South Yarmouth, Massachusetts

Hosted by Jenn Gulbrand & Karen Bain | Soul Alignment Studios

A Weekend to Return to Yourself

What if, for one winter weekend, you stepped away from everything that asks something of you—and allowed yourself to be the one receiving?

No meals to prepare.
No schedules to manage.
No one you need to take care of.
No pressure to accomplish anything.

Just three beautiful days devoted to rest, reflection, nourishment, connection, and you.

This February, we are inviting a small group of women to join us  for an intimate, all-inclusive luxury retreat at a beautifully restored historic Sea Captain House on Cape Cod.

For one winter weekend, the entire house becomes ours.

A private sanctuary where historic Cape Cod character meets understated luxury—beautifully appointed bedrooms, original wide-plank floors, marble fireplaces, gracious gathering spaces, an extraordinary kitchen and dining room, quiet corners for reflection, and the timeless beauty of life near the sea.

It is elegant without being formal. Luxurious without feeling like a hotel. Intimate enough that, from the moment you arrive, it can begin to feel like home.

And for three days, nearly everything has been thoughtfully considered for you.

You simply arrive. We take care of the rest.

WHERE LUXURY MEETS INTENTION

Luxury isn’t simply beautiful surroundings.

Luxury is spaciousness.

It’s waking without rushing.

It’s lingering over coffee or tea.

It’s sitting around a beautiful table and having someone else prepare the meal.

It’s being guided through an experience without having to figure out what comes next.

It’s exquisite sound, meaningful conversation, beautiful surroundings, nourishing food, thoughtful gifts, and enough unscheduled time to actually absorb it all.

And perhaps the greatest luxury of all:

Having nowhere else you need to be.

That’s the experience we’re creating for this weekend.

WHERE SCIENCE MEETS SOUL

Throughout our time together, we’ll guide you through a carefully curated progression of experiences designed to support the body, nervous system, mind and spirit.

We'll explore self-love and compassion not simply as ideas, but as something we can actually experience and practice.

Our weekend will weave together:

We'll explore the ways we speak to ourselves.

The expectations we place upon ourselves.

The ways we push through, overgive, compare, criticize, perform, or place ourselves last.

And rather than approaching any of it as something that needs to be fixed, we'll practice meeting ourselves with greater curiosity, tenderness and compassion.

This isn't about becoming a better version of yourself.

It's about spending a weekend becoming reacquainted with the woman who has been there all along.

“From the moment I arrived, I felt completely welcomed and at ease. Jenn and Karen created such a beautiful, safe space where I could let my guard down, stop taking care of everyone else, and simply receive. I left feeling lighter, more connected to myself, and reminded of how important it is to offer myself the same love and compassion I so freely give to others.” — Former Retreat Participant

“There was something incredibly special about the space Jenn and Karen created together. I felt seen, supported, and never pressured to be anything other than exactly where I was. Through the movement, reflection, meditation, sound, and connection with the other women, I found myself softening in ways I didn’t expect. It was exactly what my heart needed.” — Former Retreat Participant

“I came to the retreat knowing I needed time for myself, but I didn’t realize how much I needed it until I was there. Jenn and Karen held the day with so much warmth, intention, and care that I felt safe enough to slow down and really listen to myself. I walked away feeling grounded, nurtured, and deeply grateful—not only for the experience, but for the reminder that I am worthy of my own love, too.” — Former Retreat Participant

YOUR WEEKEND

This weekend is an invitation to explore self-love and compassion in a way that goes far beyond simply talking about them.

FRIDAY | ARRIVE + EXHALE

From the moment you arrive, the invitation is to begin letting go.

Settle into the house and your room. Meet the women you’ll be sharing the weekend with. Enjoy our welcome reception and beautiful food and refreshments as you transition out of the pace of everyday life.

We’ll gather for our opening circle and ceremony before ending the evening with a deeply restorative floating sound experience (5 minutes away from the sea captains house by car) designed to help your body soften and your nervous system begin to settle.

Afterward, the house is yours.

You can choose to Journal, have tea, sit by the fire, connect with another woman, or simply retreat to your room and rest.

There is nowhere else you need to be.

SATURDAY MORNING | RECEIVE + RECONNECT

Saturday is the heart of our retreat.

We’ll begin slowly and intentionally with morning meditation and gentle embodied yoga practices before gathering for breakfast.

Our morning experiences will invite us deeper into the themes of self-love, compassion, nervous-system awareness, embodiment and the relationship we have with ourselves.

There will be time for learning. Time for reflection. Time for conversation.

And time simply to notice what emerges when we stop moving quite so quickly.

We’ll then gather around the table for a beautiful lunch together before moving into a very different kind of retreat experience.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON | YOUR TIME, YOUR WAY

After lunch, the afternoon belongs entirely to you.

We’ve intentionally left several hours unscheduled because part of the luxury of this weekend is having time that doesn’t belong to anyone else.

Perhaps you’ll…

  • Curl up by the fire with a book.
  • Journal in a quiet corner of the house.
  • Take a nap in your beautiful room.
  • Linger over tea and conversation.
  • Bundle up and walk to the harbor.
  • Explore South Yarmouth.
  • Browse the local shops

Or simply enjoy the rare pleasure of having absolutely nothing you need to do.

For those who would like a little additional nurturing, we’ll also invite a select group of wellness and intuitive practitioners to join us at the house during the afternoon.

Optional Private Experiences may include:

  • Massage Therapy
  • Reiki & Energy Healing
  • Intuitive or Spiritual Readings
  • Additional Curated Wellness Experiences

These private services are not included in your retreat investment and will be available for an additional fee based upon the experiences you choose.

Practitioner offerings, pricing and opportunities to reserve appointments will be shared with registered guests prior to the retreat.

There is no right way to spend the afternoon. In fact, that is part of the practice.

Instead of asking what you should be doing, you get to notice:

What would feel good to me right now?

And then give yourself permission to choose it.

SATURDAY EVENING | GATHER + RESTORE

Later in the afternoon, we’ll come back together and transition into our evening.

We’ll gather around the table for dinner, conversation and connection before moving into a special evening experience incorporating ritual, reflection and sacred movement, allowing ourselves to be truly seen and supported by one another.

Candlelight. Warmth. Stillness. Sound. Connection.

And an opportunity to receive without needing to do anything at all.

Then the rest of the evening is yours to linger, connect or retreat into rest.

SUNDAY | INTEGRATE + RETURN

Sunday morning is about gathering what you want to carry home with you.

After a quiet morning practice and breakfast, we’ll explore how self-love and compassion move beyond a beautiful weekend and become part of the way we actually live.

Not through some dramatic reinvention of ourselves.

Through small, meaningful choices.

  • How do I speak to myself?
  • How do I respond when my body asks me to slow down?
  • How do I honor my needs while remaining connected to the people I love?
  • How do I make room for myself in my own life?

We’ll close our weekend together with reflection, meditation, gratitude and ceremony—creating an intention for what comes next.

Our hope is that you leave not with another list of things you need to work on, but feeling rested, nourished, grounded, connected, and a little more at home within yourself.

The Setting

A Historic Sea Captain’s Home on Bass River

Our home for the weekend is an extraordinary 1865 Greek Revival sea captain’s residence in South Yarmouth, rich with Cape Cod history, character, and a story that feels especially meaningful for a retreat centered around women.

Set directly across from Bass River and just 1.5 miles from Smugglers Beach, the beautifully preserved five-bedroom home offers the intimacy of a private residence with plenty of space to gather, retreat, share meals, sit by the fire, and find a quiet corner of your own.

The house sleeps up to 11 with two King bedrooms, two Queen bedrooms, and a spacious loft with three individual full-size beds—allowing our small group to experience the warmth and connection of sharing a home while still having room to rest and restore.

But perhaps what makes this house most special is its history.

Over the years, it was home to three sea captains and remained within the same family for approximately a century. The original owner, a sea captain, died unexpectedly in his early forties. Remarkably for the time, his wife retained ownership of the home in her own name and remained its steward throughout her life.

And then she did something we especially love about this story. She passed the home to the eldest woman in the family.

For the next hundred years, the house continued through the family before eventually passing to new ownership. Today, its current owners are only the third owners in more than 160 years.

There is something beautifully fitting about gathering here for Self-Love & Compassion—a group of women coming together in a home whose history includes a woman who, generations ago, held onto something that belonged to her and then entrusted it to another woman.

This isn’t simply where we’ll sleep for the weekend.

The house becomes part of the retreat itself.

A place with history and soul.
A place shaped by the sea.
A place where women have held stewardship for generations.
And, for one winter weekend, a place for us to gather, exhale, receive, and come home to ourselves.

This retreat will be intentionally small.

That’s part of the luxury.

Rather than disappearing into a crowd of retreat participants, you’ll be part of an intimate gathering where there is room for genuine connection, personalized attention and spaciousness.

The luxury isn’t simply the house.

It’s the time.

The setting.

The beautiful food.

The carefully curated experiences.

The attention to detail.

The thoughtful gifts waiting for you.

The practitioners who come to us.

The opportunity to be known rather than lost in a crowd.

And the rare experience of having very little asked of you for an entire weekend.

INTIMATE BY DESIGN

MEET YOUR RETREAT HOSTS

This weekend is being lovingly created and co-hosted by Jenn Gulbrand and Karen Bain, whose complementary backgrounds bring together the heart of the Soul Alignment philosophy: thoughtful care for the body, mind, nervous system and soul.

JENN GULBRAND

Jenn is the founder of Soul Alignment Studios, an author, speaker, transformational coach, trauma-informed somatic practitioner, Reiki Master Teacher, sound healing facilitator, meditation and breathwork guide, and retreat leader.

Her work blends nervous-system awareness, somatic practices, meditation, breathwork, sound and energy healing, coaching and intuitive wisdom to help people slow down, reconnect with themselves and create meaningful change from the inside out.

Jenn will guide many of the weekend’s meditation, breathwork, sound healing, self-compassion, reflection and Soul Alignment experiences—and, perhaps most importantly, help create the intentional container that allows women to soften, connect and receive.

KAREN BAIN, RN

Karen brings more than 33 years of experience as a Registered Nurse together with her work as a Board Certified Nurse Coach, yoga instructor and Reiki practitioner.

Her approach is warm, grounded and deeply compassionate, integrating her extensive healthcare background with mindful movement, nervous-system support and whole-person wellness.

Throughout the weekend, Karen will guide movement and restorative practices, help create our nourishing retreat experience, and bring the steady, caring presence that has become such an important part of the Soul Alignment community.

TWO WOMEN. ONE SHARED INTENTION.

Jenn and Karen bring different experiences and perspectives to the weekend, but share a common belief:

Well-being isn’t created by pushing ourselves harder.

Sometimes it begins when we finally give ourselves permission to slow down, listen, receive and be cared for.

Together, they have designed this retreat to feel less like attending a wellness program and more like being welcomed into a beautifully held experience—where the details have been considered, the pace is intentional, and you are free to simply arrive and be present.

For this weekend, you don’t have to take care of everything. Let us take care of you.

Resting, walking to the harbor, exploring the shops, reading by the fire, taking a nap or simply savoring an afternoon with nowhere you need to be are equally encouraged.

This is your retreat.

PERHAPS THIS WEEKEND IS FOR YOU IF...

You’ve spent much of your life being the person other people depend upon.

You’re beginning to recognize how much you ask of yourself.

You’re craving rest that feels deeper than simply getting more sleep.

You want to reconnect with your body, your needs, your desires and your own inner wisdom.

You want meaningful connection with other women without pressure or performance.

You want something deeper than a spa weekend but gentler and more spacious than an intensive personal-development retreat.

Or perhaps nothing is particularly wrong.

Maybe you’re simply ready to give yourself something beautiful.

That is reason enough.

You don’t have to wait until you’re exhausted to deserve rest.

You don’t have to reach depletion before you’re allowed to receive care.

And you don’t need to earn the right to make room for yourself.

A WEEKEND OF RECEIVING

There will always be another obligation.

Another person who needs something.

Another email.

Another project.

Another reason that now isn’t quite the right time.

Perhaps self-love begins in moments exactly like this.

When we stop waiting until everyone and everything else has been taken care of.

When we include ourselves in the care we so naturally extend to others.

When we allow ourselves to receive without first proving that we’ve earned it.

For one extraordinary winter weekend on Cape Cod, you’re invited to do exactly that.

Come sit by the fire.

Come gather around the table.

Come breathe.

Come rest.

Come laugh.

Come receive.

Come reconnect.

Come home to yourself.
